Jared gave a talk, "In Situ Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy (STEM) of Individual Electrochemical Intercalation Events in Graphite".  Billy gave a talk, "Time-Resolved Imaging of Electrochemical Switching in Nanoscale Resistive Memory Elements".
 

 

August 3-7, 2104: Chris gave a talk, "In Situ Transmission Electron Microscopy of the Electrochemical Intercalation of Graphite in Concentrated Sulfuric Acid".  Billy gave a talk, "In Situ STEM of Ag and Cu Conducting Bridge Formation through Al2O3 in Nanoscale Resistive Memory Devices". August 4-8, 2013: Chris gave a talk, "Graphene electrodes for in situ transmission electron microscopy of electrochemical processes". Billy gave a talk, "Transmission Electron Microscopy of Coherence and Nanothermodynamic Effects in Graphene Biased In Situ".  Ed presented a poster, "Failure Modes of Fluid Cell Chambers Used for Liquid In Situ Transmission Electron Microscopy".  Matt gave two talks, "Fabrication of a Lift-Out Grid with Electrical Contacts for Focused Ion Beam Preparation of Lamella for In Situ Transmission Electron Microscopy" and "Quantitative Electron Diffraction of Graphene: Measurement of Mean-Square Atomic Displacement and Implications for Dark Field Imaging".
 

July 29 - Aug 2, 2012: Chris gave invited talk, “In Situ Transmission Electron Microscopy of Electrochemical Electrode Reconfiguration Processes,” and Edward to give talk, "Creation And Manipulation Of Bubbles In Liquid Water Using A Scanning Transmission Electron Microscope", at Microscopy & Microanalysis 2012 in Phoenix.

March 3, 2012: Chris gave an invited talk, “Transmission electron microscopy of incandescent lamps and liquid water”, and Edward gives poster presentation, "Charged nanoparticle dynamics in water induced by scanning transmission electron microscopy", at Caltech for the Spring Meeting of the Southern California Society for Microscopy and Microanalysis.


March 1, 2012: Brian gives talk, “Thickness Determination of Multilayer Graphene Using Transmission Electron Microscopy”, at the March Meeting of the American Physical Society.

 

 

February 28, 2012: Edward gives talk, “Charged nanoparticle dynamics in water induced by scanning transmission electron microscopy”, at the March Meeting of the American Physical Society.

 

 

January 25, 2012: Chris demonstrates Van de Graaff generators at the “Ask the Scientist Night” at Bell Gardens High School.  This event was set up by the UCLA CNSI’s High School Nanoscience Program in partnership with an NSF-funded IGERT Materials Creation Training Program (MCTP).

 

 

 

 

January 21, 2012: Chris brings liquid nitrogen to SACNAS (Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science) outreach event at UCLA.
